We love Mid-Century design. From Danish sideboards, airy wall units from the '60s through sophisticated day beds and comfy easy chairs to '50s kidney tables. And who would not enjoy being surrounded by so many beautiful things every day?

But there is so much more to it.

Quality. Back in the day, furniture was built and bought to last for generations, nourished and cherished. It stayed for a lifetime, not just until the next move.

Sustainability. We want to discard less, preserve more. We take the good ones and take care they find a use in a new home.

Professional reconditioning. All of our goods undergo a thorough examination, and restoration if necessary.
We go easy on those precious and delicate veneers and sand by hand only. The adequate finish – oil, wax, or high quality lacquer – fit them for their new home.
In the majority of the cases, upholstered furniture is newly covered by one of our upholsterers, some pieces are even rebuilt from scratch. Others are just fine as is – which does not spare them a good cleanse.
All kinds of steps that mean a modification of the original condition, but also significant traces of usage, are well described.

Character. Things with a past liven things up. Combine old and new furniture, go eclectic!

Authenticity. Our furniture does not only come with a past, but also with an origin. We try our best – sometimes this means hours and hours of research – to work out designers and manufacturers. We do not always succeed, but we learn something new every day.

Value preservation. We know. There is "Retro" furniture at every turn, looking every inch a Mid-Century classic. They are new. And cheap. And we promise: they are worth just as much now, and nothing at all in two to five years from now. Investing in an authentic piece will spare you the drop – but who would want to re-home it at all?
